The Companhia Docas do Estado da Bahia (CODEBA) registered an all-time cargo throughput recorded for the month of May.
The state’s organized ports (Salvador, Aratu-Candeias, and Ilhéus) handled 1,213,021 tonnes, an increase of 8.40% compared to the same period in 2021 when cargo throughput was only 1,119,001 tonnes. At the time, the volume had been the highest recorded for the month.
The 33.45% increase in the monthly performance of the Port of Salvador was one of the main factors that led to this outcome. The port traded 545,699 tonnes, a difference of 136,784 tonnes from the movement recorded in May 2021.
