VLI and Companhia Docas do Espírito Santo (Codesa) entered into a partnership for expansion works at the Port of Vitória, which will allow for an increase in the volume of cargo transported through the site. The plan is to carry out joint studies and investments to expand the capacity of the railroad, port and terminals.
A memorandum of understanding was signed this Monday (13th) between the companies at an event at Palácio Anchieta with the participation of the Minister of Ports and Airports, Márcio França, and Governor Renato Casagrande.
This is one of the first partnerships signed by the new Codesa, a company that was privatized in 2022. Details of the investments are yet to be released.
According to VLI, the studies that will be carried out will analyze what capacities are needed to accommodate the expansion of the load under study, including adaptations and training of railway branches that access the Port of Vitória.
The project will also include improvements to the terminal’s internal branches, piers capacity – involving berths, draft and equipment, among other aspects – and loading, unloading and static storage systems for cargo to be handled.
