Coffee: global exports grow 1.8% in February

Coffee exports from member and non-member countries of the International Coffee Organization (ICO) totalled 11.4 million units of 60kg bags in February, the fifth month of the 2021/22 world harvest, compared to 11.2 million bags in the same period of 2021, an increase of 1.8%.
Total exports for the 2021/22 crop so far were 53.2 million bags between October and February, a 0.8% decrease from the first five months of the 2020/21 season when exporters sent 53.6 million bags abroad.
According to the ICO, in the last 12 months (February 2022 being the twelfth), Arabica exports totalled 80.8 million bags, compared to 82 million bags in the previous 12 months, down 1.5%.
The shipment of robusta in the period was 48.6 million bags compared to 47.5 million bags in the last 12 months to February 2021, representing an increase of 2.3%.
