Complexes in SP export more despite fewer cattle and less soy; sugar energy remains stable

The state of São Paulo produces little soy and few cattle, but the export complex in both sectors showed the greatest variations from January to October.
As a result of the concentration of processing industries, shipments of soybean meal, oil, and grain added up to 21.5%, and beef added up to more than 16.6%. Respectively, they generated sales of US$ 2.31 billion and US$ 2.18 billion in the general result calculated by the government of São Paulo above US$ 15.8 billion – an increase of 10% and a surplus above US$ 12 billion.
Orange juice exports also expanded from January to October, despite the bad harvest, and São Paulo holds the national leadership in the chain. Sales rose 18.4%, to $1.34 billion, closely followed by forest products, at $1.33 billion.
The flagship of São Paulo’s agricultural economy, sugar energy, with foreign sales of US$ 5.42 billion, did not expand in the period surveyed due to strong crop failure and, therefore, lower aggregate production in the mix.
