Soybean meal prices rose in Brazil over the past week. According to Cepea’s applied economic researchers, prices shot up on firm external demand and, above all, concerns related to the supply of soy meal in the MY 2022/23.

It should be noted that the hot and dry climate has made it difficult to sow the oilseed in the Spanish-speaking country, the world’s largest exporter of soybean derivatives, which has attracted demand to Brazil and the United States.

According to government data, from Jan to Nov, Brazil exported a record volume of 19.25 million tonnes of soybean meal, up 24.4% from the same period last year.
