Corn: high international demand keep pace of exports intense
Nov, 22, 2022 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202247
The pace of Brazilian corn exports remains intense. In the first weeks of November, 2.28 million tonnes of corn have already been shipped, with an average daily outflow of 286,000 tonnes, according to Secex.
If this performance continues until the end of the month, November exports could top 5.7 million tonnes, more than doubling the volume sold in the same month in 2021.
See the graphs below for volumes of corn exported by Brazil since 2017 and the main destinations:

The researchers of the University of Sao Paulo’s Center for Advanced Studies on Applied Economics indicate that despite the good progress of the summer harvest and the approaching end of the harvest in the United States, international demand has been driven by logistical challenges in the Black Sea and a reduction in production in the European Union due to drought.
