Crop failure in Brazil should push orange juice stock to the limit in 2022

The new orange crop (2021/22) in the São Paulo and Minas southwest triangle belt, whose production is forecast to be at an all-time low, should pressure juice stocks to the minimum level necessary for the industry in 2022, warned CitrusBR, the association of beverage exporters, on June 9.
The reserves of concentrated orange juice equivalent to 66 degrees Brix held by companies associated with CitrusBR should reach 310,759 tons on June 30, 2021, at the end of the current season, down 34% from the previous cycle.
See the chart below for a history of Brazilian orange juice exports since 2018, according to data from DataLiner:

Although it is necessary to wait for the ripening of the harvest just beginning, it is possible to predict that stocks on June 30, 2022 will be even lower than current ones, said the executive director of CitrusBR, Ibiapaba Netto, in a note.
