Current Brazilian sugar exports overshadow February 2023 shipments

Brazil’s sugar exports until the third week of February have surpassed those seen for the entire month a year ago, according to data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) published on Monday, the 19th.
During this period, sugar exports reached nearly 1.8 million tonnes, compared to 1.1 million tonnes in February last year.
The following chart shows Brazil’s export volume of sugar from January 2022 and December 2023. The data used below was sourced from DataLiner.

Meanwhile, corn exports totaled 1.4 million tonnes and, if the current pace of shipments continues, have the potential to exceed February 2023 (2.2 million tonnes), according to Secex figures.
