On November 20th, Companhia Docas da Paraíba (DOCAS/PB) published the public notice in the Official Federal Gazette for the implementation of the Truck Regulation Yard – Truck Center at the Port of Cabedelo.
The purpose of the Truck Center is to reduce the formation of queues of trucks circulating in the city, improve the Port-City relationship, improve flow management, reduce irregular parking of cargo vehicles on the roads around the port and its terminals, and increase efficiency in port operations.
The project foresees a paved parking area for 140 trucks, space for the operation of restaurants and cafeterias, restrooms, and other services. The area will also have a 300m² support area, two buildings for administration, and rental rooms, in addition to lanes with internal circulation and parking of tour vehicles.
Operating as a logistical support center, the project will organize the flow and parking of vehicles through the passage of trucks through the yard, with scheduling of entry and exit to the terminals. It will be built in an area that integrates the Porto de Cabedelo polygonal in the Jacaré Retroárea.
The implementation of the Truck Center is part of the Public-Private Partnership Program (PROPPP-PB) of the Government of Paraíba and contributes to the port’s modernization. In all, among investments initiated and planned for the next three years, the port complex in Paraíba has more than R$ 250 million invested in the public area, leased terminals, and waterway infrastructure for accessing the Port of Cabedelo
