DP World Brasil has signed an agreement with Maersk, a global shipping and logistics company, for operations at the Santos terminal. Under this commercial partnership, DP World will expand its capacity and handling volumes, while Maersk secures long-term service commitments with a guaranteed minimum service level.
The long-term deal includes the implementation of six services and eight weekly calls throughout 2025. In the second year, following the first phase of DP World’s capacity expansion, the terminal is expected to handle seven services and ten weekly calls, reaching a volume of 1.7 million TEUs.

“This is another strategic step for DP World, reinforcing our presence at the Santos terminal and paving the way for new expansion opportunities in Brazil. This agreement with Maersk not only allows us to scale up our container handling capacity but also ensures a strong and sustainable long-term service,” said Márcio Medina, Vice President of Commercial Operations at DP World Brasil.
Paulo Ruy, Maersk’s Regional Head of Terminals and Port Acquisitions for Latin America, emphasized that the agreement secures service capacity for Maersk in Santos. “It aligns with our strategy to provide reliable and efficient operations for our customers in the region,” he stated.
