DP World Santos has introduced a new coastal shipping line, the Amazonas Express Service, providing a regular and efficient service for its customers. Operated by Login, this line offers a non-stop connection to the south of Brazil.
Login launched the service in April, and the Santos complex is among the first in the country to make this option available. Departures occur every two weeks with two vessels. On May 27th, the ship Login Discovery made the inaugural call, heading north and connecting Santos, Navegantes, Salvador, Suape, Pecém, and Manaus. The transit time from the DP World terminal is 16 days, while the southbound express journey takes only nine days, enabling faster cargo delivery to its destination.
This new service also enhances the cargo transport capacity between Brazil’s South, Southeast, North, and Northeast regions. Márcio Medina, the Commercial Director at DP World Santos, explains, “The Port of Manaus serves as the gateway to the North of the country, and with the introduction of the express route, our customers now have an additional option for transporting their goods and receiving essential products promptly to drive their businesses in the South-Southeast axis.” Most of the cargo transported through this service is done so in containerized, mainly electronics and auto parts.
Cabotahe navigation has been gaining significant importance in the national logistics chain along the country’s coast and the continent, playing an important role in strengthening the Brazilian economy. DP World Santos is committed to providing state-of-the-art infrastructure to support these operations, establishing the Port of Santos as the main port hub on the East Coast of South America, as explained by the Director.
