Egg exports grow 38.9% in the first two months of 2022

Brazilian egg exports (including fresh and processed products) totaled 2,096 tonnes in February, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). This figure is 35% higher than the same period last year when 1,552 tonnes were shipped.
The revenue generated by sales in February was US$ 3.161 million, which was 50.6 % greater than the revenue generated in the second month of 2021, US$ 2.099 million.
In the first two months, egg exports totaled 4,411 thousand tonnes, a volume 38.9% higher than the 3,177 thousand tonnes shipped between January and February 2021. In terms of revenue, exports for the two-month period reached US$ 6,250 million, a figure 51.4% higher than the result recorded for the same period in 2021, US$ 4.128 million.
The main destination for egg exports from Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, imported 3,532 tonnes in the two-month period, 49.9% more than the 2,356 tonnes imported in the same period last year. Other important destinations were Oman, with 273 tonnes (+0.6%), and Japan, with 100 tonnes (+13.1%).
