Egg exports grow 69.5% in 2024

According to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), Brazilian egg exports (including all products, both fresh and processed) totaled 1,604 thousand tonnes in February. This figure represents a 53.3% increase compared to the same period last year, when 1,046 thousand tonnes were shipped.
In terms of revenue, there was a 0.9% increase, with $3.034 million in February this year, compared to $2.998 million in the second month of 2024.
Year-to-date, there has been a 69.5% increase, with a total of 3,535 thousand tons in the first two months of 2024, compared to 2,086 thousand tons in the same period last year. During the same comparative period, export revenue accumulated a 24.5% increase, with $6.433 million in 2024, compared to $5.166 million in 2023.
The United Arab Emirates reclaimed the top spot as the main destination for Brazilian egg exports in the first two months of this year. In total, they imported 1,562 thousand tons, a 102% increase compared to the same period last year. In second place, Chile imported 435 tons (+1,368%).
“Brazil’s egg shipments continue to maintain a steady flow in exports, with increased market penetration through international actions in strategic markets for the sector, such as the Middle East, indicating the trend of shipments for the year,” evaluates ABPA President Ricardo Santin.
