Egg exports revenue up 61.7% in Brazil

According to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA), revenue from Brazilian egg exports (all products, fresh and processed) totaled US$ 1.499 million in August, a figure that is 20.5% more than the figure recorded in the same period of 2021, which was US$ 1.243 million.
In terms of volume, Brazilian sales of eggs to the foreign market totaled 446 tonnes in the eighth month of this year, 21.5% lower than the 568 tonnes obtained in 2021.

Year to date, between January and August, the revenue derived from Brazilian egg exports totaled US$ 16.270 million, 61.7% higher than the same period in 2021 when sales totaled US$ 10.060 million. In terms of volume, the cumulative rise in the first eight months is 13.5%, with 7,583 thousand tonnes in 2022, up from 6,678 thousand tonnes in 2021.
The United Arab Emirates is the top destination for Brazilian egg exports, importing 4,332 thousand tonnes from January to August, a figure 2.2% higher than in 2021 when the UAE imported 4,231 thousand tonnes. In second place, Japan received 728 tonnes during the same period, 40.9% more than the volume transported in 2021, 517 tonnes.
“There are indications that, for the first time, we should close this year with shipments equivalent to 1% of total Brazilian production, an important milestone for the sector that has been growing sustainably, with sales to Asia and the Middle East”, analyzes Ricardo Santin, president of the ABPA.
