El Salvador opens market for Brazilian exports of eggs and poultry meat

El Salvador announced last week it granted Brazilian authorities the sanitary approval necessary for egg and poultry meat exports.
This market opening, which should increase the trade flow between the two countries, proves that the international community places confidence in Brazil’s health control system.
Access to these two new markets builds on the authorization announced by the Salvadoran government in early March for Brazilian exports of gelatin and collagen derived from bovine, porcine, and other ruminant skins.
Agricultural exports to El Salvador totaled around US$137 million in 2023. The main items were cereals and forestry products.
The positive result is the result of joint efforts between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA).
