Toys and articles for infants and children attract the attention not only of the little ones. The sector’s exports have been growing for a decade, attracting entrepreneurs with innovative ideas and investors looking to expand the presence of companies in the international market.
According to Comex Stat data, Brazil earned US$ 27.8 million with exports of toys, baby strollers, games, and sporting goods up to September 2022. Compared to the same period in 2021, there was a growth of US$ 9.11 million, representing an increase of 48.8% in the sector’s export revenue. Such figures represent the highest revenue since 2011, which accumulated US$ 24.8 million YTD.
The volume exported grew significantly. In 2022, 4.32 thousand tonnes were exported, a variation of 54.6% from the same period of the previous year. This was the largest volume ever exported in the analyzed period, breaking the record of 2.79 thousand tonnes in 2021.

Based on the data, it is possible to identify that children’s products are growing as a sector of the Brazilian eco. The companies receive the necessary support through the Export Qualification Program (PEIEX), offered by the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), to start exporting and becoming more competitive in foreign trade.
“PEIEX is ApexBrasil’s primary action to prepare startup or non-exporting companies for the export process. The program provides qualification for companies to understand the steps necessary to be export-ready,” explained Ulisses Medeiros, analyst of ApexBrasil’s Qualification coordination. Over 30 active centers across the country currently offer, execute, and implement the Agency’s program in collaboration with the partner institution.
