Exports from Mato Grosso more than double in 4 years

The amount collected from exports from Mato Grosso increased by 119% between 2016 and 2020, according to data from the State Secretariat of Finance (SEFAZ).
Five years ago, the state earned R$ 43.8 billion from exports. Last year, the value reached R$96 billion.
The main products exported are from the agribusiness sector. Mato Grosso is the state that exports the most soy in the world. The country expects to expand agricultural production by 30% by the end of the decade.
According to data from the secretariat, other exported goods besides soy are raw cotton, corn, sunflower oil seeds, sesame, canola, cotton, wood, non-alcoholic beverages, and construction materials.
Since 2016, exports are on the rise in the state. If comparing the BRL 96 billion collected last year with 2019 (BRL 67.8 billion), the increase is 41.7%.
