Jun, 15, 2023 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202323
In April 2023, Brazil’s exports of hatching eggs, primarily used for broiler chick production, experienced a notable decline of almost 20% compared to the previous month. However, it is important to note that the volume recorded still stands as the second largest in the sector’s export history.
Approximately 35 million hatching eggs were shipped in April, marking an impressive 125% increase compared to April 2022. This year’s average monthly exports, reaching close to 36 million units, represent a substantial 105% surge compared to the average recorded in the previous 12 months, around 17.5 million units per month.
In the first four months of the year, the total volume exported more than doubled, reaching nearly 143.5 million eggs. This result signifies a growth of just over 108% compared to the 68.9 million recorded in the same period of 2022.
