FastFrete, from the FTS Par Group, won the auction held on March 8 for an area that will house a parking lot and sorting yard for trucks in the Port of Vila do Conde, in the city of Barcarena, state of Pará.
“The grant amount offered was R$6 million for the contract with an initial term of 20 years,” informs the institutional director of Grupo FTS Par, Alex D’Avilla.
The area, numbered 35, has an extension of 47,549 m². In addition to managing the yard, FastFrete will offer a parking structure and other services for trucks, such as bodywork cleaning, classification, meal provision, and restrooms. The grace period to start paying the concession is 18 months, considering the project’s implementation phase.
FastFrete’s director, Lgia Bombonatto, notes that the new contract allows the company to expand its operations to other parts of Brazil. “We gained experience in this sector at the Port of Paranaguá in Paraná. We are now expanding our service offering with this new area in the Port of Vila do Conde and then to other port regions in Brazil,” Lgia says.
In Paranaguá, the company manages a truck driver yard fully equipped with a barbershop, laundry, dental clinic, convenience area, and children’s play area. The Ministry of Transport has certified the site as a “Stop and Rest Point.” In addition, the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) has recognized it as a suitable resting environment for truck drivers, meeting important safety, health, and comfort requirements.
