No country, other than Brazil, has developed such an integrated and organized productive chain for the clean and sustainable energy industry. Proof of such a claim can be found in the bioenergy sector, which generated US$150 billion in 2022, according to data from Embrapa Agroenergia, which also predicted that the demand for bioenergy will triple in the coming years due to decarbonization making its way to becoming one of the world’s central topics.
In line with this context, the 29th edition of Fenasucro & Agrocana, scheduled to take place from August 15th to 18th at the Zanini Events Center in Sertãozinho/SP, aims to outperform last year’s BRL 5.2 billion generated in business opportunities and continue to be a key platform for the introduction of new trends in the sector.
As the only fair in the world exclusively dedicated to the bioenergy chain, this edition of Fenasucro & Agrocana will promote the conversation on a global energy transition path with a focus on sustainability, biofuels, and clean energy. The exhibition will cover an area of 70,000 square meters and feature over 800 brands presenting equipment, services, solutions, new technologies, and industry trends.
“We will highlight the trends in bioenergy and offer high-quality technical content. Brazil is currently a reference in the production of biofuels, as we have the largest output in the world. All eyes are on us, and Fenasucro & Agrocana serves as a driving force behind the launch of new technologies,” emphasizes the fair’s director, Paulo Montabone.
As a model for professional development, networking, and business generation for thousands of professionals from sugar mills, biofuels, bioelectricity, and other sectors in the production chain, this year’s event expects to receive over 42,000 visitors from all over Brazil and more than 47 countries.
Over three thousand national and international brands’ products will be displayed, spread across four main sectors: bioenergy, agriculture, industry, and transportation and logistics.
“Over the next few years, we expect to witness a strong trend in the acquisition of products and equipment, as well as the consolidation of the entire bioenergy chain. Additionally, several previously idle plants resumed operations in 2023, and there are plans for the construction of new units, which has a positive impact on the fair,” reveals Montabone.
Sustainability
Sustainability is a key focus this year, with the launch of the Sustainable Innovation Route, which will promote and showcase exhibitors that present solutions and technologies focused on sustainability before and during the event.
The fair will also feature content events over four days, offering more than 100 hours of technical and specialized programming to address clean energy generation, sustainability, productivity, and management efficiency. Renowned speakers and industry entities will be present at these events.
Honorary President
This year, Fenasucro & Agrocana appointed Evandro Gussi as the honorary president. Gussi has been the CEO of UNICA (União das Indústrias de Cana-de-Açúcar) since 2019. He is also the chairman of the Advisory Board of EPE (Empresa de Pesquisa Energética), a lawyer, and served as a federal deputy for São Paulo from 2015 to 2019. During his time as a parliamentarian, he authored the bill that led to the National Biofuel Policy, RenovaBio, an incentive program based on predictability and environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
