Fertilizers: Russia claims US blocks exports from increasing
Oct, 24, 2022 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202243
The Russian Foreign Ministry said on October 20th that Moscow is ready to increase exports of food and fertilizers to help avert a global food crisis but is being blocked from doing so by the United States.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Washington is “blackmailing” and “persecuting” those trying to negotiate with Russia, undermining global food security.
The United States has not directly targeted Russian agricultural exports. Still, Moscow says sanctions on Russia’s transport, insurance, logistics, and payments infrastructure are hampering Russia’s ability to export crucial fertilizers and chemicals. The information comes from the Reuters Agency.
