
Fire Breaks Out at Aratu Port Warehouse in Salvador Metropolitan Region

A fire broke out at Aratu Port in Candeias, located in the Salvador Metropolitan Region (RMS), on the night of Saturday (22). Preliminary reports indicate that the fire occurred in a warehouse belonging to CS Brasil that was used to store fertilizer.
The stored items were intended for export to various countries. The cause of the fire remains unknown. According to Alô Jucá, there were no casualties or injuries. Teams from the Bahia Military Fire Department (CBMBA) quickly contained the fire, with around 100 agents involved in the operation.
In a statement, the Bahia State Dock Company (Codeba) confirmed that the fire was fully extinguished without any reported victims.
The agency added that “the fire started at 5:34 PM, and CS Portos immediately activated the Mutual Aid Plan (PAM), initiating firefighting efforts with its Fire Brigade. The operation involved more than 100 professionals, including teams from the Bahia Military Fire Department, Codeba’s Fire Brigade, and brigade members from Volpak, Unigel, and Braskem.”
