A major fire called the Fire Department teams at the Port of Paranaguá into action this weekend. The battle against the flames endured for over 14 hours, and fortunately, there were no reports of injuries.
The fire originated in the overhead conveyor of a company in the port region around 11:50 PM on Saturday (28) but was only controlled at around 2:30 PM on Sunday (29).
Paraná Operações Portuárias released a statement clarifying that the fire had no connection to the company’s operations and that it occurred in the equipment used by part of the port.
According to the firefighters, two fire trucks and at least 14 military personnel were involved in the operation.
