For fourth consecutive month, Portonave surpasses 100,000 TEU handled

For the fourth time this year, Portonave surpassed the milestone of 100,000 TEU handled in a single month. The handling record was achieved on September 30 at the end of the operation of the MSC VIGO vessel. The vessel is 270.40 meters long and has a capacity of 5,500 TEU. It is part of the USA1 service destined for Central and North America.

The Terminal ended the month of September with 51 ship berths. 60,007 containers were handled and 109,074 TEU. The mark surpassed 108,643 TEU for the month of May. In addition, the terminal received 45,000 trucks, an average of 1,500 per day. For three days, the Gate flow exceeded 2,500 vehicles, reaching 2,563 on September 22nd. And, even with so many Gate movements, the average length of stay in the yard, counting the container’s entry, loading or unloading, and exit was around 23 minutes.
In these nine months of 2021, Portonave registered a 37% growth compared to the same period last year. YTD handling already totals 858,572 TEU.
