Søren Toft, former chief operating officer of AP Møller-Maersk, who stepped down early last week, was announced as the new CEO of Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).
The news came after Toft resigned from his position at Maersk a few days ago, pointing out that he was looking for new opportunities.
The announcement was made official by MSC. “Mr. Toft has an impressive career and pedigree in the industry, having worked at Maersk for the past 25 years, specifically as Chief Operating Officer of Maersk Line since 2014. MSC is confident that this appointment will bring significant value to its business, taking advantage of the company’s existing strengths and further boosting its development plans,” said the Swiss shipping company.
