Fortaleza Port oversaw 1,031,138 tonnes in wheat operations last year, according to the National Waterborne Transportation Agency (Antaq), surpassing all other Brazilian ports in wheat unloading for the second year in a row.
“It’s a very significant, consistent number. This strengthens Fortaleza Port as the leader in the segment, outpacing other Brazilian ports (including Santos, the largest in Latin America), for two consecutive years – in the last four years, Mucuripe has led the national ranking three times,” celebrated Lucio Gomes, CEO of the Ceará Dock Company.
The following chart shows the import volume of wheat at the Port of Fortaleza between January 2022 and December 2023, according to the DataLiner maritime intelligence service.
