Frigol-owned meat processing plant gains export qualification for Singapore
Apr, 25, 2023 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202320
A Frigol-owned meatpacking unit located in São Félix do Xingu was contemplated to export beef to Singapore. According to the company, this is the second export license received by the company to countries in Southeast Asia this year; the first license was issued in January when the Água Azul do Norte unit was granted the greenlight to export to Indonesia. The company did not say how much it expects to ship to the country.
“Singapore imports more than half of its beef from Brazil. Hence, we see it as a promising market for our company, which is becoming increasingly export-oriented,” said Frigol’s Director of Operations, Orlando Negrão, in a statement.
According to the executive, the next step is to obtain export qualifications for the Philippines and Malaysia.
