Brazilian fruit exports in 2023 reached a volume of 1.06 million tons, marking a 6% increase compared to the previous year. It surpassed the $1.2 billion mark in revenue, setting a record with a significant 26.73% growth.
This outcome reflects the remarkable diversity of fruits cultivated in the country, as well as the continuous growth, acknowledgment of the quality of Brazilian products in global markets, and the opening of new markets.
Guilherme Coelho, the president of the Brazilian Association of Fruit and Derivative Producers and Exporters (Abrafrutas), mentions Brazilian producers’ commitment and hard work.
“This record is the direct result of the tireless effort of our fruit growers. They dedicate their lives to cultivating the highest quality fruits, with respect for the environment and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. We are extremely proud of this milestone and will continue to support and strengthen our fruit cultivation,” he said.
Brazil ranks 3rd in the world for fruit production and is a major player in the cultivation of mangoes, melons, grapes, oranges, bananas, and acerola.
