Gelatin and collagen market now opened to Brazilian exporters
Mar, 05, 2024 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202410
The Brazilian government has received with satisfaction El Salvador’s announcement that the country was granted sanitary authorization for exports of gelatin and collagen derived from bovine, swine, and other ruminant skins.
This market opening, expected to boost trade levels between the two nations, is yet another testament to international confidence in Brazil’s sanitary control system.
Agricultural exports to El Salvador totaled approximately US$137 million in 2023, with cereals and forest products ranking the highest on this list. In January 2024 alone, agricultural exports to El Salvador reached over US$9 million.
With this announcement, the Brazilian agribusiness has achieved its 18th market opening across 13 countries this year.
This positive outcome is the result of joint efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
