Global coffee exports during the seven-month period from October 2022 to April 2023 reached a total volume of 72.19 million 60kg bags. Out of this volume, Arabica beans accounted for 42.52 million bags, representing 58.3% of total exports, while Robusta coffee accounted for 29.67 million bags, equivalent to 41.7% of worldwide sales in that period.
In April 2023, global coffee exports amounted to 10.15 million bags. Of this, 6.15 million bags were Arabica coffee, accounting for 60.5% of the total, and 4 million were Robusta coffee, representing 39.5% of the exports.
These figures reflect the actual sales of coffee-producing countries worldwide. They are categorized into four major regions by the International Coffee Organization (ICO): South America, Asia & Oceania, Mexico & Central America, and Africa. It’s important to note that the ICO’s coffee year spans from October to September, so these seven months are being analyzed in this context.
