Argentine exports of grains and derivatives generated revenue of US$ 1.925 billion in July 2023. The amount represents an increase of 21.8% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 39.2% compared to July 2022. The data was collected by the Oil Industry Chamber of the Argentine Republic (Ciara) and by the Cereal Exporters Center (CEC), entities that represent 48% of Argentina’s total exports. In the seven months of the year, accumulated revenue is US$ 12.96 billion, down 42% in the annual comparison.
According to the entities, the inflow of foreign exchange in July continued to be hampered by the strong drought that reduced the production of soy and corn in the country.
The main product exported by the sector is soybean meal, which corresponds to 14.2% of the total exported by the country. Bran is followed by corn (11% of the total) and soybean oil (6.9%).
