
Heavy rain washes away one section of BR-230

This morning, Brazil’s National Transport Infrastructure Department (DNIT), published an alert that heavy rain has washed away part of the BR-230/PA highway at km 714, the section between Brasil Novo and Medicilandia. The occurrence happened on a paved portion of the road.
The Trans-Amazonian Highway (known as the BR-230) is 4,000 km long and runs through the Brazilian states of Paraíba, Ceará, Piaui, Maranhão, Tocantins, Pará, and Amazonas.
