The South Korean carmaker, Hyundai Motor Co., has announced plans to expand production in Brazil to meet local demands. The company intends to increase production by 14% from 180,000 units to 210,000 units per annum at its Piracicaba plant located in São Paulo. In 2018, the Korean company delivered 193,000 units in three shifts.
Hyundai will invest US$32m in the production facility where it plans to produce two new compact models – the HB20 and the HB20S – in addition to the existing models such as the Creta compact SUV.
