On Monday, June 14, the tug convoy C TORMENTA + ferry Z MAX XX pushed off from the Port of Imbituba carrying approximately 40 km of cables for the electric power transmission line that will interconnect the substation located in the municipality of Biguaçu (mainland) to Ratones, in the north of Santa Catarina Island (Florianópolis). The cargo was shipped by transshipment from the vessel DA QING to the ferry, an operation already carried out at the port at the beginning of the year, unprecedented in Santa Catarina. The ship left on Sunday night, June 13. This second stage complements the first operation, completed in February this year.
“The two phases moved approximately 80 km of power cables, adding to the wide variety of loads that can be served in the port complex and demonstrating the port’s participation in this important regional project”, highlights Fábio Riera, CEO of SCPAR Porto de Imbituba. The material came from South Korea and will be installed in underwater sections.
The DA Qing was arranged by Wilson Sons and operated by Simetria Logística, while the ferry is administrated by the maritime agency Orion and operated by Santos Brasil.
