On June 8th, Imetame Logística signed the amendment to the Secretariat of Ports (SEP) adhesion contract. The contract includes the schedule of works approved by ANTAC (national association for autonomous cargo transporters) and authorization by the Department of Federal Worth (SPU).
The maritime works began with the construction of the breakwaters and the transportation of the rocks to be used. The structural stones for the breakwaters are extracted from Imetame’s own quarry, located in Córrego das Pedras, a rural area of Aracruz-ES. The earthworks in the area, the acquisition of equipment, and all the preparations for the start of the works at the port have already been carried out.
The forecast is that the project’s installation works will take place over three years.
The R$1.7-billion project is for a Private Terminal Complex modeled to serve the most diverse production sectors, offering specialized terminals for different types of cargo, such as containers, general cargo, and grain.
With a depth of 17 meters and a draft of up to 16.5 meters, the Port Complex will be able to receive long-haul ships and permit the safe operation of large ships.
Located on the banks of ES-010, less than 80km from Vitória, the Port will have a railway connection 3km away with the Vitória a Minas railroad (EFVM). Close to several other highways, including the BR-101, the Port Complex is next to a 5 million-m² area to be used as a logistic and industrial platform.
