State-owned company Infra SA, closely associated with the Ministry of Transportation, will conduct a series of feasibility studies for the expansion of the Port of Suape in Pernambuco. The Pernambuco port authority has contracted the state-owned company to devise the necessary documents for leasing nine terminals located within the complex, which ranks among the top ten largest public ports in Brazil.
Additionally, pre-feasibility studies will be conducted for another five terminals. This work will determine the most suitable investment modality for each project.
The contract between Infra SA and the Port Authority of the Port of Suape will last for four years and was signed on Tuesday, the 5th, during the 28th edition of the Intermodal Fair in São Paulo.
Jorge Bastos, CEO of Infra SA, states that the company has the necessary expertise to attract the investments that will modernize the port. “This is an important step for the Port of Suape to become increasingly competitive. The quality of Infra S.A.’s studies is recognized by the market and will result in more modern and sustainable terminals in the Pernambuco complex.”
Linked to the Ministry of Transportation, Infra SA also collaborates with the Ministry of Ports and Airports in structuring projects for leasing port terminals. The company has conducted studies that have already enabled more than 40 auctions of port terminals.
