The contract signed by the Port of Suape with the Center for Studies and Advanced Systems of Recife (CESAR in Portuguese) is beginning to bear fruit. On the second day of Intermodal South America, the first subsystems linked to Suape’s Terminals Operating System (TOS) were presented at the state-owned company’s stand.
It is a cutting-edge solution that will consolidate all port operations activities into a single platform, significantly enhancing productivity and control over maritime traffic. Moreover, all of this is in real-time, in collaboration with the company’s geoprocessing system.
Suape’s TOS will be composed of five major modules: maritime, operational, financial, storage and statistics. In addition, the system provides for the integration of customers and agencies involved in the platform. When active, the product will evolve into a Port Community System (PCS), like the ones used by the most important berths around the world, expanding access to all actors involved in the transportation of port cargo.
For Roberto Gusmão, CEO of Suape, such a novelty will generate numerous gains for the anchorage. “The TOS will provide a new dynamic for port movement at Suape. We will use this tool to speed up the berthing and unberthing procedures at the port, as well as to optimize vessel entry and exit. The platform will assist at increasing earnings with the largest volume of ships in operation, in addition to improving and facilitating work and producing advantages for all parties involved,” highlighted the manager.
