The mayor of Ipojuca, Célia Sales, together with municipal secretaries, held a meeting with representatives of the company APM Terminals, a subsidiary of Grupo A. P. Moller – Maersk, which recently acquired an area inside the Atlântico Sul Shipyard (EAS), located in the Suape Industrial Port Complex.
The conference was an opportunity to introduce the local government to the different areas of the company, with the objective of advancing the negotiations of licenses and authorizations that the company needs to obtain. The operations of the new terminal should begin in 2024.
According to ATM Terminals CEO Aristides Russi Junior, “we hope to move forward with the licenses as soon as possible so that we can see machines and people working. We count on the collaboration [of the local government] to leave a positive impact on people’s lives with our company’s help,” said the representative.
The meeting was also attended by the CEO of the Atlântico Sul Shipyard, Nicole Mattar, the director of EAS, Tanielle Cavalcanti, the director of projects at APM Terminals, Mark Appel, and the project manager of the company, Mihut Motrescu.
