
Iraq grants new licenses to BRF

Iraq is one of the countries that import the least chicken meat among Arab countries, a group of countries that has steadily grown in their purchases from Brazil, also reaching the 24th position among world buyers in 2021, despite a 41% drop in volume. However, now that the country has granted five new licenses to BRF units, we may see a sharp rise in shipments to Iraq.
BFR is the Brazilian leader in global poultry meat exports and, certainly, the world leader in supplying halal meat and other foods items that follow the slaughter precepts of the Islamic world.
The history of animal protein markets shows that, except for cyclical economic crises that disrupt the rhythm, there are more purchases whenever new authorizations for suppliers are granted.
In addition to the five newly-licensed plants, Iraq renewed the certification of another three.
