Brazilian honey and beekeeping product exports exceeded $196 million over the past two years, according to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture released on Monday (Feb. 24).

“The beekeeping sector has benefited from both the diversification of trade partnerships and the strengthening of existing commercial relationships,” the ministry said.

In 2024, Brazil’s agricultural exports to Israel totaled $442 million, with beef, soy complex products, grains, and coffee leading the trade.

The chart below shows the monthly pace of honey exports registered out of Brazilian ports between January 2021 and December 2024. The data was derived from Datamar’s DataLiner.

New Market Access in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Beyond Israel’s approval for Brazilian honey and byproducts, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have recognized Brazil’s International Sanitary Certificate (CSI) and will begin importing Brazilian poultry and pork. The Ministry of Agriculture expects this development to strengthen trade relations with the Caribbean nation.

According to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), the Caribbean country, home to 110,000 people, imported 8,000 tonnes of chicken meat and nearly 1,000 tonnes of pork last year, with about 80% of those imports coming from the United States.

“Opening this market will expand Brazil’s presence in the Caribbean, a region with strong demand and significant potential for meat products,” said ABPA President Ricardo Santin in a statement.

According to federal government data, in 2024, Brazilian agricultural exports to Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries reached $200 million, driven by meat, forestry products, grains, flours, and processed foods.

With this latest development, Brazilian agribusiness has secured 31 new market openings for 2025.
