Itajaí and Navegantes Port Complex tonnage grows 6% in October

In October, the Itajaí and Navegantes Port Complex registered a 6% YoY growth tonnage. The numbers are from the Monthly Statistics Report of the superintendence of the Port of Itajaí (port authority).
In October 2021, 1,519,692 tons were handled, against 1,431,200 tons in the same period in 2020, an increase of 26%. As for the number of stopovers, the complex registered a 4% growth in the same comparison.
In the containerized cargo segment, 135,157 TEU were handled, 5,826 TEU more than in October 2020, when the Complex registered a handling of 129,331 TEU.
At the PORTONAVE Terminal (Porto de Navegantes), 51 calls were registered in October, with 98,105 TEU and 1,061,293 tons, an increase of 36% compared to the same period of the previous year, 73% of the total movement of containerized cargoes registered in the Port Complex of Itajaí and Navegantes.
In all, the Port Complex registered 81 dockings during the month of October, 27 of which were carried out in the leased area (APM Terminals), 1 berthing at TUP Braskarne, and 2 at TEPORTI.
