Itajaí port complex sees 1.2 million tonnes throughput

The Itajaí Port Complex recorded, in February alone, 1,201,343 million tonnes handled and 98,490 TEUs. Between January and February, the YTD throughput was 2,369,164 tonnes, while handling containers – measured in TEUs – reached the mark of 200 thousand and 392 tonnes.
There were 83 vessel calls at the Port Complex, with 58 at the Portonave Terminal, 05 at APM Terminals (right bank), 08 at the Public Pier, 02 berths at the Private Use Terminal (TUP) Braskarne, 04 at TUP Teporti, 04 at TUP Barra do Rio, 01 at TUP Poly Terminals, and 01 mooring by the Itaja Port Authority Office.
At the Port of Itajaí (Public wharf and APM Terminals/leased area), February saw the movement of 71,060 tonnes, with 13 ships operated and 118 TEUs. For the year’s total, the throughput from January to February was 118 TEUs and 81,980 tones.
Portonave’s container throughput registered during February was 1,098,340 million or 98,330 TEUs. From January and February, the accumulated container handling was 2,248,608 tonnes or 200,232 in TEUS.
At TUP Braskarne, 3,061 tonnes of cargo were moved in containers during February.
At TUP Teporti, the container throughput recorded during February was 19,301 tonnes, with a growth of 6% compared to the same period last year (18,212). The January and February total grew 42%, with 25,934 tonnes.
At the TUP Barra do Rio, the container throughput recorded during February was 3,581 tonnes and 42 TEUs.
At TUP Poly Terminals, container handling in February was 6,000 tonnes.
In Turning Basins 01 and 02, 83 turning maneuvers were carried out in February alone. From January to February, 164 turns were registered in the two basin areas in front of the port and in Baia Affonso Wippel (Saco da Fazenda).
On February 9, the Port of Itajaí received its 1st container cargo line in 2023 with the ship Theodor, docking at APM Terminals (berth 02) with 251 tons worth of containers.
Also in February, within the first fortnight, the Port of Itajaí received the Saga Crest, loaded with 22,750 thousand tonnes of pulp, marking a total movement of 169,916 tonnes since 2022.
