The Itajaí Port Complex reached the mark of 8,335,984 tonnes of cargo in containers during the first half of 2022. In total, there were 729,399 TEUs during the months of January to June this year, totaling 478 stopovers throughout the period.
Adding the APM Terminals’ throughput to the public wharf result, both terminals handled 28,288 TEUs with 321,867 tonnes, adding the half-yearly movement to 175,427 TEUs with 2,064,950 tonnes. During June, 28,228 container movements corresponded to 21,543 TEUs of full containers, and 6,685 TEUs of empty containers, both for import and export at APM Terminals and the public port.
The Port Complex’s expectations for the second half of 2022 revolve around receiving a response from the Federal Government regarding the renewal of the contract between the Municipality and the Superintendence of the Port of Itajaí, as well as maintaining operational growth across the entire complex.
