KSOE to build 3 LNG ships and 6 container ships

Korea Shipbuilding Offshore Engineering (KSOE) has secured a deal to build three liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers and six container ships.
As reported by Offshore Energy, KSOE will build the 200,000 cubic meter LNG ships at the Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard for an unidentified European shipping company. The agreement has a value of USD 687 million 924 thousand, and the vessels will be ready by the end of 2025.
In addition, KSOE’s Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries received a contract from an undisclosed shipping company in Asia to deliver six 8,000 TEU container ships. They are expected to be ready by December 31, 2024.
So far this year, KSOE has secured $6.1 billion worth in contracts for 54 vessels.
KSOE is the world’s largest shipbuilder by order book and has three subsidiaries, Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co., and Hyundai Samho Heavy, under its wing.
