Kuehne+Nagel took another step toward promoting sustainable practices in the Brazilian transport industry. In line with its commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting green innovation, the firm announced the use of a fully electric vehicle fleet in its last mile delivery service.
The vehicles were specifically designed for use in this project by Arrow, which, thanks to experience in the e-commerce market, makes them innovative and strategic solutions for last-mile delivery operations. In total, the fleet of electric vehicles operated by Kuehne+Nagel will be responsible for processing approximately 1 million products per year, a testament to the relevance of e-commerce and logistics in Brazil. The new fleet is expected to prevent the release of 1,376 kg of carbon gases into the atmosphere per vehicle, totaling some 500 thousand kg of CO2.
“We are thrilled to announce the increase in the number of electric cars in our fleet, which shows our commitment to abiding by environmental principles and promoting a sustainable future. This initiative reflects the effort we put into sustainable, efficient actions, strengthening ESG aspects even further in our Roadmap 2026,” commented Jorge Canella, National Contract Logistics Manager at Kuehne+Nagel Brazil.
With the addition of 20 new electric vehicles to our fleet, with 10 more expected in the last implementation phase, Kuehne+Nagel will boast the largest electric vehicle fleet in operation in Brazil and Latin America.
In addition to reducing the carbon footprint, the company is committed to promoting equity and equality in the industry, planning to hire female drivers to operate these cars.
