On October 7, Log-In Logística Integrada reported its financial and operational results for Q3 2024, highlighting a record Net Operating Revenue (NOR), the introduction of the new Log-In Experience vessel, and the completion of the Vila Velha Port Terminal (TVV) modernization project, which included retrofitting port cranes for enhanced operational efficiency.
Log-In’s NOR reached R$ 707.3 million in Q3, marking a 13.6% year-on-year increase. For the first nine months of 2024, the company’s net revenue rose by 15.8%, totaling R$ 2 billion compared to the same period in 2023.
Key drivers of this growth spanned all business lines. Coastal shipping revenue surged, with gains in feeder services and the launch of the Navegantes Shuttle Service, as well as expanded operational capacity thanks to new vessels. TVV also reported increased revenue and container throughput, marking a record Q3 performance. Additionally, Road Freight Transport expanded its container operations.
Marcio Arany, CEO of Log-In Logística Integrada, attributed the consistent growth to the company’s market expansion and strategic focus. “Our Q3 results demonstrate our capability to meet growing demand for integrated logistics solutions, overcoming challenges like port congestion. These successes reflect the synergy across our business lines and our commitment to innovative value-add for clients and partners,” Arany commented.
Coastal Shipping
Q3 2024 indicators for Coastal Shipping highlight Log-In’s strong market position, with a 21.2% increase in NOR to R$ 452.2 million. This growth was primarily driven by record feeder volumes, which reached 134.1 thousand TEUs, a Q3 peak. The expansion was supported by the new Navegantes Shuttle Service, launched in Q2 2024, and increased international shipping activity due to port congestion.
With a new vessel added to the fleet, the door-to-door shipping volume exceeded expectations. Combined, the Cabotage, Mercosur, and Feeder services significantly boosted total Q3 coastal shipping volumes to 198.6 thousand TEUs, a 46% year-over-year rise. For the year’s first nine months, total shipping volume grew by 64.8% compared to 2023, totaling 559.4 thousand TEUs.
Vila Velha Port Terminal (TVV)
TVV achieved strong Q3 results, with revenue reaching R$ 91.7 million—a record for Q3—driven by a container throughput of 57.9 thousand units. Growth was spurred by a rise in electric vehicle imports in flat-rack containers and sustained coffee exports from Espírito Santo. The TVV modernization project, which included crane retrofits, is expected to boost terminal productivity and meet the rising demand for diversified logistics services.
According to Gustavo Paixão, Log-In’s Terminal Director, the retrofit has bolstered TVV as a versatile, future-ready terminal. “Modernizing the terminal not only expands our handling capacity but also improves operational reliability and speed. With new cranes, we’re prepared to serve customers at an even higher efficiency level, supporting the growth of regional exports and imports,” Paixão stated.
Road Freight Transport
In Road Freight Transport, Q3 marked the launch of the Fleet Expansion Project and modernization of two branches specializing in container transport.
The fleet of Oliva Pinto (Tecmar Norte) increased by 30%, with new tractor-trailers equipped with Euro 6 technology to reduce CO2 emissions and improve fuel efficiency. Tecmar Transporte & Logística, in partnership with Oliva Pinto, strengthened less-than-truckload (LTL) operations in Northern Brazil, now covering 54 municipalities in Amazonas and Roraima. Tecmar’s multimodal network and 23 warehouses further extended Log-In’s operational reach.
NOR for Road Freight Transport totaled R$ 151 million, bolstered by the expanded container operations for Log-In, along with revenues from LTL and spot cargo and warehousing. Q3 saw continued synergy between Tecmar and Log-In, with 82 dedicated vehicles moving 1,167 TEUs of LTL cargo through road-cabotage, increasing the cargo volume originating in Manaus.
Further highlights included modernization of Tecmar’s Curitiba and Salvador branches, strategically located to enhance speed, safety, and productivity; CRM training for drivers; a new delivery-tracking app; personnel initiatives; and fire safety compliance projects.
ESG Initiatives
Since 2020, Log-In has developed a robust ESG agenda, emphasizing sustainable business practices. In Q3 2024, Log-In received ISO 9001 and 14001 recertification for TVV and held its third Health Week, focusing on physical, social, and emotional well-being.
