Lot STS10 in the Port of Santos has been approved by the public-private partnership program (PPI) to house a container terminal at Cais do Saboó.
Publication of the notice is scheduled for the fourth quarter (between October and December). The auction for the area should take place in the first quarter of next year.
Before that, however, some phases must be respected. One of them is the approval of the studies by the Federal Audit Court (TCU).
The works on the area must be carried out by EPL, the planning and logistics company normally responsible for technical surveys that precede the leases. A public consultation and hearing phase will also be necessary.
Area and Expected Capacity
The STS10 area measures 463,843 square meters. According to the Santos Port Authority (SPA), it has already been divided between terminals at Rodrimar, Deicmar, and a part of Ecoporto Santos.
PPI data shows that the new terminal is expected to reach a static capacity of 47,547 TEU by the end of the contract. Planned investments will reach R$2.2 billion.
