Maersk will launch two new weekly services, the TPX and TP20, aiming to face the high container demand and operational delays, caused by global congestion.
The Danish carrier will be the sole operator of the new services, which will commence in August.
TPX will include port calls in Yantian (China – ICT), Ningbo (China – J4) and Los Angeles (US – APMT Pier 400) and will be operated by 3,500TEU vessels.
TP20 will include port calls in Vung Tao (Vietnam – Gemalink), Ningbo (China – J4), Shanghai (China – Yangshan), Norfolk (US – VIG) and Baltimore (US – Seagirt) with Maersk deploying 4,500TEU container ships.
The Copenhagen-based container line said the introduction of the TPX and TP20 will not cause any changes to the company’s existing network.
