The year 2021 brings good expectations for the grape producer. With the mild climate, the crop has ideal conditions for its development, and projections for this year’s crop are promising. According to the Systematic Survey of Agricultural Production, carried out recently by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the projection for the 2021 grape harvest increased by 4.9% – an increase of 78,400 tons beyond expectations, totaling a crop of 1.7 million tons.
According to the Association of Producers and Exporters of Fruits of the São Francisco Valley (Valexport), this region was responsible for more than 85% of all national fruit production in 2019, which is mainly destined for the United States and countries in Europe.

With the growing relevance of this crop in Brazilian agribusiness – the cultivation of grapes is currently the most profitable production, reaching values above R$ 50,000 per hectare – plant nutrition has been gaining more and more prominence for contributing at all stages, from budding, elongation of the bunch, flowering, setting to the elongation, filling and coloring of the fruit, to the maturation of the branch.
