Manufactured product exports fall from 46% to 42% in the first quarter of the year

During the Covid-19 pandemic, exports of industrialized products have grown at a slower pace than basic and total exports in the first quarter of 2021, compared to the same period last year. They increased by only 3.6%, while exports of basic goods increased by 23.5%. Total exports rose 14.3% on the same basis of comparison.
In the first quarter, the participation of industrialized products in the export basket fell from 46% in the first quarter of 2020 to 42% in the first quarter of 2021. Meanwhile, exports of basic products increased their share in the same period in 2021, rising from 54% to 58%.

The data are for analysis by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), which will now publish a quarterly assessment of the quality of Brazilian foreign trade in a foreign trade panorama.
